I regularly commute by bike in Chicago and ride recreationally on weekends. I'd love to ride across country some day... or even from Chicago to St Louis.
i pledge this because gas wastes energy and polutes the earth and we want to have our earth for a while.
I already bike to school and to work, but I pledge to bike to social events I'd usually drive to, and to encourage my significant other to bike with me.
I've sporadically bike to work (it's only a 4-mile commute) throughout the year but am an avid recreational biker. You have inspired me to bike to work with a more regular schedule rain or shine. I will start with 2 days a week, and begin to outfit the commuter for rain or shine which has always been my downfall (a week of rain will regularly throw me off my routine)
I pledge to ride my bike at least once a day (weather permitting: it gets cold up north) and to enjoy the visible earth around me. Bike rides are something I grew up on and I plan to keep that healthy tradition going by riding myself and encouraging others to ride regularly as well. I think what you all are doing is wonderful and I hope someday I meet some random person who knows what you all have done and was inspired too.
GOOD LUCK and BE SAFE!!!
See you all in Boston for the final party!!!
I pledge allegiance to my bike, and to all the places it will take me, two pedals under feet, liberated, with same roads, rights and rules for all.
ONE LESS CAR!
I will ride my bike all of the time. I will ride it more than my car. I will tell other people to ride their bikes and punch them in the face if they don't. Please strike that last part. Have fun and great meeting you guys at the Santa Fe cookout!
I love to ride my bicycle and I love what it does for me: time to think, see the world around me, no gas, conversations with friends... I'm delighted to join your pledge and wish you the best of luck on your big journey this summer!

We had strawberry shortcake with Casey's parents last night. She was telling us about
your mission. Judi just dug her bike out that has been buried in the garage for years and
Klaus just ordered a new bike online because we have pledged to make biking a part of our
lives. We were just going to do some weekend joy riding but your group has inspired us to try to do more than that. Thanks for the encouragement!
God bless for caring for our fragile planet.
We wish you happy and safe cycling!
I pledge to continue riding my bike to town and back for work.
I live 7 miles out of town, and it's getting HOT here in 29 Palms Ca. (100+)!
Nevertheless I will continue! I also ride to buy groceries and run errands.
I was also very fortunate to meet the jointhecycle crew in the small desert town of Amboy, Ca.
I hope they are holding up well in this heat!
